Day 1: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park
Depart Nairobi in the morning and travel south toward Amboseli National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Arrive in time for lunch before enjoying an afternoon game drive across the park’s open plains and wetlands.

Day 2: Full-Day Akagera National Park
Spend a full day exploring Akagera on morning and afternoon game drives. The park offers excellent opportunities to see the Big Five, including elephants, lions, buffalo, leopards, and rhinos, together with giraffes, hippos, zebras, and numerous antelope species. You may also enjoy a boat safari on Lake Ihema for a different perspective of Akagera’s wildlife and wetlands.

Day 3: Akagera – Kigali – Nyungwe National Park
Leave Akagera and travel through Kigali toward the lush landscapes of southwestern Rwanda. Continue to Nyungwe National Park, one of Africa’s oldest rainforests and an important habitat for chimpanzees and other primates. The journey provides beautiful views of Rwanda’s hills and countryside.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking – Nyungwe National Park
Rise early for a chimpanzee trekking experience in Nyungwe Forest. Led by experienced trackers and guides, trek through the rainforest in search of habituated chimpanzee communities. Along the way, you may encounter other primates and enjoy the incredible biodiversity of the forest. After the trek, continue your journey north toward the volcanic region of Rwanda.

Day 5: Nyungwe – Volcanoes National Park
Travel from the forests of Nyungwe toward Volcanoes National Park in northern Rwanda. The journey takes you through some of Rwanda’s most spectacular landscapes, with rolling hills, cultivated valleys, and views of the Virunga volcanoes. Arrive in the Volcanoes region and prepare for the following day’s gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking – Volcanoes National Park
Today is the highlight of your safari. After an early morning briefing, enter the forest of Volcanoes National Park with experienced guides and trackers in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek can take several hours depending on the location of the gorillas and the terrain. Once you find the family, spend a memorable period observing their natural behavior in the forest.

Day 7: Volcanoes National Park – Kigali – Departure
After breakfast, begin your journey back to Kigali. Depending on your departure time, you may have an opportunity to explore Kigali or visit a cultural or historical attraction before continuing to the airport for your onward flight.
